Against an under strength Mednips Nomads side, the V's breezed to a comfortable 10 wicket victory.  4 wickets for Dave James, 3 for Ben Garland, sound all round bowling (depite several dropped catches) and a very promising start with the ball from Brett Roser saw the Mendip Nomads dismissed for 67.  Great catches from Dave James and Jav Harris.  Sent in to bat, rather higher than usual, Geoff van der Linden and Eric Reddy easily knocked off the runs required in around 15 overs.  A great start to the season but no doubt Sherston will present a bigger challenge next Sunday.

Brett Roser will make his debut for the club at Temple Ringers this Sunday (weather permitting).  Brett, an Aussie all rounder, has been out of cricket for a while but in the nets shows he still has the ability to be a real asset to the club.  Over here to marry a Bristol women, we hope he can be with us for a fair while.
