Willingdon Warriors achieved their first tournament win of the season by beating the much fancied Eastbourne Borough Black on penalties in a nail biting final.

Warriors qualified second in their group to meet a strong Borough Red side in the semi final in which they won convincingly 3-0 to set up the final with Borough Black. After going into a two nil lead Warriors were pegged back to 2-2 to take the game into extra time. With no deciding goal in Extra time, penalties were taken to decide the match.  Boro led after one penalty with the Warriors spot kick well saved , however Warriors then had the advantage with Boro missing the next three kicks with two fine saves by Sam Marchant leaving Willingdon 2-1 up with one penalty each to take.  Boro scored their final kick , but that was to no avail as Ryan Smith cooly stepped up to score and win the Trophy for Warriors !!!
