The referee for this Saturday's Lochee Harp v Broughty Athletic fixture at Beechwood Park will be David McGeachie (pictured left) from Cupar in Fife.

David, who was scheduled to referee the original Harp v Broughty match on 21 November 2009, made the headlines in late 2003 when, at the tender refereeing age of just eighteen, he was knocked out as a result of being kicked and kneed in the face by a player he had sent off.

Thankfully, this shocking incident didn’t put David off his football and he is now a Category 3 Referee as well as being Assistant Secretary of the Fife Referees Association.
