Like so many other top flight football clubs Burington Town was formed in the late 19th century by a local group of chimney sweeps.

The \"Sweepers\", came to be under the name Burrington Town in 1885 after when prolific defender Jimmy bobby became club president.

Since the 1960\'s the club has featured in 4 cup finals, of which it has won 1.  The club has also featured in the Premiership\'s title races in recent seasons, unfortunately losing out on goal difference 4 seasons running.
